Many races exist throughout the world, and each has its own languages and distinctive features. Some languages are widespread and known to almost everyone; others were forgotten long ago, and ordinary folk are forbidden to speak them; still others are known only to a select few.
To switch languages or find out which language a selected race understands, press L or select "Language Selection" in the upper-left corner.
A high intelligence value grants the ability to speak two random languages poorly. At the maximum value, all languages can be understood, but not spoken.
On an island inhabited by many kinds of creatures, there is a common language known by every creature. It serves as a means of communication for most island residents, including people, animals, sentient plants, and even certain magical beings.
There are exceptions everywhere, however. Here, Orc tribes and the goblins who live in caves cannot communicate in Common.
This ancient and refined means of communication is used exclusively by elves and dark elves. It has a melodic, musical structure filled with complex grammatical forms and a rich vocabulary that reflects the elves' deep connection to nature and magic.
Its origins reach back to the age of the first scaled creatures.
It is spoken only by reptilian races such as Lamians and Lizardfolk. Its defining feature is a combination of hisses and clicks that creates a unique melody of speech.
A harsh, guttural tongue available exclusively to Orcs. Its defining trait is a lack of subtlety, with every word steeped in strength and aggression.
It differs little from Orcish and shares features such as rough speech. Only Orcs can understand it, while only members of the Tribe can speak it.
Communication in the wilderness gave rise to a unique growling language used by two races: Moonwolves and Dendrites. This form of communication combines vocal and nonverbal elements.
A language that arose before the island itself, and perhaps before the entire world. Its origins are shrouded in mystery and legend, while its very existence is known only to the chosen few.
Only a few exceptions, such as Infernos and Nocturnes, can speak it. Dark elves can also understand it, though no one knows why.
An ancient tongue born in the depths of dark dimensions, about whose origin nothing is known. Its nature is so distorted that only a handful of creatures, in the form of skeletons, can master it.
A chaotic, coarse tongue characteristic of short green-skinned creatures. It features an abundance of short, sharp sounds and frequent repetition.
The language can be understood not only by goblins but also by Dendrites, who have learned to grasp its basic terms through their empathic bond with nature.
Every race has its own knowledge of languages. Some can understand or speak languages long forgotten, or those understood only by a chosen few, but many do not know every language and therefore hear unintelligible sounds when someone speaks an unknown tongue.
