Potion ingredients include magical flowers, mushrooms, blood, body parts from beasts and other creatures, as well as weaker kinds of potions when an intermediate or complex potion is being made. Every ingredient is infused with a sufficient amount of magic in one way or another, and the result of combining them can vary radically depending on the ingredients.
Unfortunately, most ingredients cannot be eaten because they are inedible or contain unusual mana.

A character with the "Potion Brewer" trait can identify the properties of potions inside a vessel. To learn every detail about a potion, simply press SHIFT + LMB on the container. If the vessel contains more than one potion, the properties of all of them will be shown. The properties of ordinary liquids cannot be identified, even if they are mixed with a potion first.
