A Bard is a true virtuoso with musical instruments. They may perform in taverns or set out on the road playing ballads.
How can you brighten a tavern's dull atmosphere? How can you bring life to a long journey? The Bard can help. Their mastery of the lute or flute fills the silence with stirring or heartfelt music.
If the Bard decides to take to the road, they can hire on with a group of travelers. In return for their music, support, strength, and ballads, the Bard may be paid with valuable items or money.
Even if no one hires them, the Bard can perform in the streets of large cities, playing music on request or simply entertaining people with their own creations. After a good performance, the Bard may receive a gift of money from the audience.
If performing on the region's dangerous roads or in city streets seems far too unusual, there is always the option of playing in taverns. Travelers weary from their journeys rest there, tell stories, and drink alcohol. They certainly will not object to music. If they enjoy it, they may thank the Bard with a mug of ale or two or three pieces of silver.
The Bard's fortune depends on their skill and desire to play music. Even if journeys and money bring bad luck, their ability as a musician will help them get back on their feet and begin again on a new note. Being creative is therefore a very valuable and useful skill.
