A Beggar is an unfortunate soul who fell on hard times and lost everything they had.
Left without any means of survival, the Beggar can only roam the city slums and ask successful travelers for alms. Once they have saved enough coins to buy their first knife, the Beggar can venture deeper into the region and gather loot to sell.
As a member of the lowest social stratum, the Beggar is barred from the Fort because of the Legion's strict policy toward the destitute. The Beggar therefore has only one place to sell items and ask for alms: the Rebel Camp. Prejudice against people like them presents another obstacle to a better life. The Beggar must endure mockery and climb up from the bottom on their own.
One way to earn money for future travels is for the Beggar to hire themselves out as a seeker or companion. By providing material, physical, and moral support, they can expect solid wages as well as new contacts who may help in difficult circumstances.
After completing their travels and earning enough to relax freely at the tavern, the Beggar no longer needs handouts and can go wherever they please. If they wish to help everyone who has fallen on hard times in the region, they can join the Rebel army and fight for freedom and equality for all who yearn for them.
