Difficulty: Medium
Duties: Serve drinks in your inn.
Restrictions: The role's faction falls into the category of Peaceful factions.
The Innkeeper sells the finest alcohol in the entire region. For a modest sum, they can serve anyone some mead or ale in their inn.
After an arduous and profitable expedition, travelers will naturally want to rest. The inn gives them just such a place, where fights, drink, and merriment flow freely. Members of every race can sing and laugh in unison there—or argue and brawl. The Innkeeper runs the establishment and sells alcohol and snacks. They have a couple of barrels of different drinks, food, and glasses at their disposal.
The Innkeeper's main task is to provide patrons with good alcohol and a bite to eat. Every snack has its price, which means that every guest is worth their weight in gold. The Innkeeper must therefore respect everyone who enters, while also knowing the value of their own work.
The inn itself is not very large: a common room, a counter, a room with barrels of alcohol, and racks of food. Even so, it can earn good money. All you need to do is tidy up and wait for the drunks to pour in. One option is to hire attractive female travelers to draw in and entertain patrons, coaxing them into buying beer or ale.
Giving away food and water as charity is admirable, of course, but a happy life still requires money. Selling alcohol and food can bring in a respectable sum, though moderation matters here as well. Trying to sell a single mug for 50 coins or a piece of bread for 45 will clearly lead to an argument and then a fight. To avoid unnecessary trouble, the Innkeeper must set prices according to a drink's complexity, strength, and demand. For example, they can charge 15-20 revents for mead, ale, or beer.
After earning a respectable amount of money, the Innkeeper may spend it however they wish. They can expand the inn, purchase new supplies, and much more. They should not abandon the business, however, but work to grow it and make it easier to run.
