A mercenary. As part of a group led by the Mercenary Leader, they carry out assignments and earn money.
¶ Introduction
Mercenaries are a faction that turns the civil war to its own advantage. Equipped with everything they need, they are ready to fulfill any contract for, naturally, a jingling handful of revents. Contracts can vary greatly, ranging from finding items to killing someone and perhaps even helping to organize a rebellion.
Mercenaries march under a flag bearing two daggers, symbolizing readiness and decisive action.
¶ Mercenary Leader
The Mercenary Leader is a battle-hardened warrior who, together with their companions, hires out to travelers embarking on expeditions for a considerable fee. Their situation, and therefore their reward, will depend on the clients' health.
The Mercenary Leader must look after their own health, that of their partners, and that of their employers so as not to lose their earnings; in the event of misfortune, however, they can profit by selling the belongings of the dead. Although their services are expensive, there will be no shortage of interested clients, and the Leader should take advantage of this.

¶ Mercenary
A Mercenary is the main fighter in the group. Their equipment is formidable, their sword is sharp, and their gaze is far-reaching and keen. Their fee depends on the mercenaries' knowledge, skills, and strength. Their chief duties are to obey the Leader's orders and protect the fellow travelers who have become involved in such a dangerous journey.
